Zippys Hawaii

It has been a crazy week!  I try my best to cook at home, but for the past three days I've eaten out.  It's my goal to do as much home cooking as possible to save money, but there are times when you really don't have time to cook and then do dishes afterwards.

I stopped at Zippys last night and had one of my favorites instead of cooking last night... Spaghetti with garlic bread.  There was a special last night though, so I even got a piece of fried chicken with my meal and corn.  It was awesome!  If you don't know what Zippys is, you'll know once you come to Hawaii.  It's a local diner with reasonable prices.  The restaurant is all over Hawaii.  One of the most popular Zippy's items is their chili, which is also a great fundraiser item too.

For two dishes, it was about $14.00 ... Can you really beat that?

I don't know why I like the spaghetti so much.  In a way, I guess it reminds me of my school lunches growing up.  I don't know if that's a bad or good thing, but it's a comfort food at times.

I don't know if I'd recommend the Mahi Mahi sandwhich.  It was okay to me.  The fries at Zippys are really great though!

If I could've taken a picture in Zippys last night, I would have.  However, there were a lot of people inside and I didn't want to invade anyone's personal privacy.  Instead, here's a link to a Zippys website if you want to know more about the restaurant:  http://www.zippys.com/

You seriously can't come to Hawaii and not eat at Zippys.  It's reasonable and a restaurant that typically is only in Hawaii.  There may be some others on the West coast nowadays, but for the most part, it's a Hawaii diner and it's a restaurant with affordable prices.

  1. Ahhh, the gross school lunches. Zippy's reminds me of that too. You should eat at the Old Spaghetti Factory. It wasn't great, but for some reason, it reminds me of school lunch too. =)
