Vendors on the Side Streets of NYC

In Hawaii, we typically don't have side street vendors, but in NYC, side street vendors are everywhere, adding a unique element to the city.  There are side street vendors that sell gyros, nuts, hot dogs, kabobs, and a whole bunch of other items you'll want to try.  There's nothing like a great snack when you are hungry!

Reasonably priced, we tried chicken kabobs at a stand in Times Square.  I've also had the BBQ Beef Kabobs in the Bronx, which comes with a slice of bread on top.  It's a cheap and delicious snack, especially if you are on the go.

There's a variety of nuts, such as almonds, cashews, and peanuts covered in sweet goodness.  For $5.00, you can get three mini bags of nuts.

Besides food, there are also other types of vendors.  Scarfs, mittens, bags, and even art work are sold at a low cost.  While walking in Times Square, it was so cold that I was afraid my hands would go numb.  Fortunately, a man was selling mittens near the kabob stand.  The mittens only cost $5.00. 

There are a variety of street vendors throughout the streets of NYC.  If you are touring the city and want to save time and money, I'd highly recommend grabbing a bite to eat from a food stand or even purchasing other items you may need from one too (such as souvenirs).
